Video Enhancer is intended to upscale videos. In case you’re wondering what “upscaling” means, let me explain that it´s a way to increase the resolution of a given image.

This method avoids the lack of definition that arises when you simply enlarge the screen or resample a picture. Instead, it uses the data present in various contiguous frames to reconstruct missing parts in another. As the program supports a wide range of input video formats, it can also be used as a converter. Luckily, it can save you a lot of work by allowing batch processing. However, I´m sorry to say that only MP4 and AVI are supported as output.

One of the most notorious features of this tool is that more than 220 VirtualDub filters are supported. Thus, by using a combination of them, you can enhance the image in many ways, such as deinterlacing, denoising, color correction, sharpening, etc. Video Enhancer lets you apply these filters in a sequence. Besides, the program can do this quite rapidly as it also supports applying these corrections as parallel threads. However, a lot of trying is required before you can achieve optimum results.

In general, this tool can actually improve the quality and resolution of a video. Unfortunately, the weakest point of Video Enhancer is its graphical user interface, which it’s definitely unappealing and unfriendly. Thus, most users will probably need some time before they figure out what to do.
