Video Enhancer can increase the resolution of a video by applying a smart video-upsizing algorithm, which is called Super Resolution and uses information from neighboring frames to upsize the current frame.
The application has two modes: simple and advanced, with slight variations in the interface and the procedures to use. Whatever mode you use, multiple data should be entered before you can start the video enhancement; and even worse, this requires some knowledge of concepts like filter, codec, deinterlacing, etc. Fortunately, there is a wizard to ease the configuration process.
The program supports processing either single files or batches. Unluckily, the only output format supported is AVI. However, there is a list you can select the desired audio and video codecs from, while more can be downloaded if necessary. You can also decide whether you want to increase the final quality at the expense of speed or the contrary.
The application also lets you apply such video filters as deinterlacing, denoising, deblocking, color correction and sharpening. What is more, other filters can be downloaded as well. According to its developers, the tool has the advantage that all the filters, coders and decoders can work simultaneously in separate threads, thus saving a considerable amount of time.
In general, Video Enhancer is an advanced tool to help you enhance the quality of video files. When I tried the application, it worked just as expected.
